EMI: Why are you so obsessed with the terminal anyways?

RIO: I'm trying to see if I can get this thing to swap the viewpoint over to our timeline.

EMI: It won't let you?

RIO: Nah, no clearance on my terminal.

EMI: Aren't you adminstrator on that thing?

RIO: Yes, but it's still connected to a bigger server, a huge tree of other Zohar Terminals. At least, diagnostics on it imply that.

RIO: You see, this terminal is connected to a "branch" as the machine calls it.

RIO: A singular branch contains the data of an entire universe. Each one then gets assigned a terminal, and that's how you manage them.

RIO: The only way I was able to get this running was when I assigned it to where we are right now, EMPTY SPACE.

EMI: Haha, you did the thing!

RIO: Takes a lot of practice, haha.

RIO: Each branch contributes to a bigger "tree" of branches. And that "tree" is managed by the Tree of Zohars.

RIO: Though the more I look into it, the more it seems to have and endless list of names. Zohar Terminals, Unreal Terminals, Unity Terminals, Godot Terminals, Zeebo Terminals... there's no end to how many names these things go by. I really don't know what the real name is meant to be.

EMI: So each branch is a timeline then?

RIO: No, each branch is an entire universe. Complete with all of its timelines.

EMI: Wow!

RIO: According to some training data on the terminal, each branch is maintained by someone. The branch of EMPTY SPACE is maintained by me. It didn't have any sort of manager before I created this terminal. I guess Time Rifts don't really need to be managed by anyone... not much happens in them.

RIO: Anyways, the tree looks like this, according to a diagram on the terminal.
